The author of such well-known books on ancient theatre as The Stagecraft of Aeschylus, Greek Tragedy in Action, and Comic Angels, Oliver Taplin is the man behind the founding of Didaskalia.

Together with his colleage Edith Hall (formerly of Somerville College) he has established the Archive of the Performance of Greek and Roman Drama at Oxford.
